Abhishek Banerjee Reflects On The Funny Way Of Fulfilling His Father's Lifetime Dream Through 'Stree 2'

Abhishek Banerjee has recently opened up about a deeply personal and funny connection that he has to the character that he plays in the Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's much awaited horror comedy, 'Stree 2'.

Banerjee, will be seen essaying the character of an IAS aspirant named Jana in Amar Kaushik's latest film. But, did you know that before the dreams of the limelight bit him like a bug and then subsequently went on to establish himself as one of the most versatile actors working in the industry, (Keep in mind that he will be seen in both Stree 2 and Vedaa as two totally different characters coming Independence Day) his father had hopes of turning him into an IAS officer.

But, as we all have understood by now, life had different and much more glamorous plans for the star.

And now that Abhishek finds himself essentially playing a character that we was otherwise going to play in real life, he looks at this situation in a sweet and comical way and thinks that his father's wishes for him are coming true in a very unique manner.

Reflecting on this hilarious and maybe (and maybe even kind of supernatural) connection, the Vedaa actor said the following:

"My father always wanted me to pursue a career as an IAS officer. While my heart was always set on acting, this role in 'Stree 2' feels like my father’s dream has never left my side. Playing Jana, who aspires to be what my father wished for me, is genuinely sweet yet funny. My father and I still laugh about it that being his son I found unique ways to realise his dreams, if not in reality, at least on screen”.

Abhishek Banerjee also humorously remarked on his character's chances of cracking the exam.

"Seeing Jana's struggles with the IAS exam preparation makes me doubtful that he would have ever cracked it in his life. But, I’m glad I could at least embody that ambition in a film."

This will certainly make Stree 2, and especially Abhishek Banerjee's performance in it, one to look out for, won't it?
