Ali Fazal To Share Screen Space With Samantha Ruth Prabhu In Raj & DK’s Period Drama/Fantasy Series, Rakht Brahmand

Ali Fazal is all set to join the cast of Raj & DK's Period/Fantasy series, Rakht Brahmand. This series in question will also see Samantha Ruth Prabhu as its leading lady.

The ensemble cast also includes names such as Aditya Roy Kapoor and Wamiqa Gabbi in key roles.

"Rakht Brahmand" is the brainchild of Raj & DK, the visionary duo that is responsible for bangers such as Farzi and The Family Man series, the shows that took Amazon Prime Video by storm shortly after their respective releases on the streamer. Rahi Anil Barve of Tumbbad fame is all set to take the director's chair for this one.

This will be the next major project for Ali following Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino, the Aamir Khan-produced Lahore 1947 and Mani Ratnam's much-awaited directorial venture, Thug Life.

A source close to the development revealed that, “The project is a marvellous vision of Raj & DK and it’s definitely a step forward in its genre. All the cast members have finally been locked and the shoot is all set to start next week. Ali will be shooting for the series through August while also completing small schedules of his other projects."

To this, the source added that "The vision of the show was enough to get Ali excited to be part of the series. It’s a really interesting part and it is something he has never done before, both in terms of the character type as well as the space in which this particular show resides."

The show, which is essentially a 6 part limited series, is now reportedly a step closer to starting its principal photography sometime during next week in Mumbai. First looks, posters and other materials in connection to the project are expected to follow.
