The 2024 Toronto International Film Festival will open with "Nutcrackers" by David Gordon Green, as announced Tuesday by TIFF organisers.
After his four nephews' parents die in a car crash, Ben Stiller, who plays a workaholic, finds himself unexpectedly caring for them. This is Stiller's first leading role in seven years. He has been in supporting roles and worked as a director and producer on shows like "Severance" and "Escape at Dannemora" since his last directorial venture, which was 2017's "The Meyerowitz Stories.". Take a look at the first look of the film in its full glory down below.

The film "Nutcrackers" co-stars Tim Heidecker, Linda Cardellini, and Edi Patterson and was written by Leland Douglas.
"Our Brand Is Crisis" (2015), "Stronger" (2017), and his 2018 remake of "Halloween" were among Green's previous features to make their world premiere at TIFF. This was the first in a string of four sequels for the writer-director, beginning with "Halloween" and ending with "Nutcrackers."
On the first night of the eleven-day festival, September 5, the movie will be shown. While a dozen titles have been announced so far, the majority of TIFF's lineup—which usually includes more than 100 films—will be unveiled in a series of releases starting on July 22.
