Jamie Lee Curtis, who won an Oscar for her performance in the critically acclaimed TV series The Bear, is about to receive yet another honour.
Curtis was very recently honoured with a doctorate of fine arts degree honoris causa from the American Film Institute for her "contributions of distinction to the art of the moving image.", as per an article on The Hollywood Reporter.
At the AFI Conservatory's commencement ceremony honouring the class of 2024, which will take place on August 10 at Hollywood's TCL Chinese Theatre, Curtis will be presented with the diploma, the report further reads.
“Jamie Lee Curtis is a supernova born from the union of two stars – an icon whose fearless approach to her craft and dauntless dedication to driving culture forward define excellence in our modern day,” said Bob Gazzale, AFI president and CEO, in reference to her famous parents Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter.
Gazzale went on to add that “AFI is privileged to honor her at AFI Commencement, where the next generation of storytellers will draw inspiration from her remarkable journey.”
