Captain America: Brave New World Star Giancarlo Esposito Addresses MCU Casting Rumours

Since his groundbreaking performance as Gus Fring on Breaking Bad ended, actor Giancarlo Esposito has been in high demand for other thrilling roles, and fans often wonder if he would have been a better fit for other great characters. Esposito had long expressed interest in portraying a role similar to the X-Men's Professor X, but he has since acknowledged that his endorsements were just a way for him to show his fans how much they meant to him. Regardless, he will reportedly feature in Captain America: Brave New World as an unnamed character. On July 5th, theatres will screen MaXXXine, the next film starring Esposito.

While addressing the casting rumours as well as the fan's desire of seeing him as MCU's Charles Xavier during a conversation with ComicBook.com, Esposito stated "I started thinking about Professor X, because I feel like that could be a character that I would really excel at, and really be great in. They also talked about Magneto, they also talked about [DC's Mr.] Freeze, all of those things. I am so happy to be in the MCU. I'm happy that you don't know what I'm doing there and I'm happy that I probably don't know what I'm doing there, but I'm happy to be there and you're going to see it soon."

We suppose that is all we are going to get from Gus Fring for the time being. As far as the fourth instalment in the Captain America franchise is concerned, it is scheduled for a theatrical release coming Valentines Day.
