Deadpool & Wolverine: Makers Show 35 Minutes Of The Film To A Packed Screen In China

Deadpool & Wolverine, which releases day-and-date with the U.S. on July 26th, is the first R-rated Deadpool film to release in China (reportedly with minimum cuts). It seems like the Merc with a Mouth's signature wit hasn't been lost in translation. Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Shawn Levy promoted the film at the 2024 Waterbomb Festival in Seoul, South Korea, and a 1,000-seat theatre in Shanghai, China, where fans watched 35 minutes of new Deadpool & Wolverine footage that "elicited constant laughter and applause," according to China.org.
As per a report on ComicBook, Chinese social media leaks reveal that the footage showed Deadpool and Wolverine variations from throughout the multiverse and an interaction with a prominent Marvel character. Reynolds promised that Deadpool's MCU cameo-filled first film in a new cinematic universe is keeping back the biggest surprises for the opening weekend.
"There's so many surprises in the movie we don't want the world to start talking about it before people see it," Reynolds told the Shanghai crowd with a translator. "But those 35 minutes, they cook. They're pretty damn incredible"
"Wait 'til you see the whole thing," Levy said to applause. "There are a lot of surprises coming for you later this month."
