The Merc with the Mouth is back on the big screen and he's absolutely killing it.

Under the direction of Shawn Levy, with the help of franchise genius Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool & Wolverine smashed box office records with a jaw-dropping $205 million opening, as per an article on The Hollywood Reporter. This makes it the eighth biggest opening in history, beating out all other films and easily claiming the title for the biggest R-rated film launch, without adjusting for inflation.

The first Deadpool movie was quite the overachiever, raking in a whopping $133.7 million on its opening day. Impressive, huh?

The same THR report states that the movie had a mind-blowing global debut, raking in a whopping $233.3 million internationally and a total of $438.3 million worldwide. Talk about making it rain!

Here's a little trailer of the blockbuster for your amusement:

As the weekend approached, everyone had high hopes for the third installment of this movie. With Reynolds reprising his role as Wade Wilson/Deadpool and Jackman joining the franchise as Logan/Wolverine, it was bound to be a wild ride. Experts predicted an opening of $160 million to $175 million, which was a pretty impressive number as it is considering the movie's restricted rating.

In a delightful turn of events, the film has broken records left and right! It's the highest-grossing opening for Reynolds, Levy, and Jackman, and it's also the fifth-biggest superhero launch. Quite the achievement, wouldn't you say?

Move over Mickey Mouse, because Deadpool and Wolverine are crashing the Disney party! This R-rated movie marks a major milestone for Disney-owned Marvel, showing that they're bouncing back from a rocky period.

The movie's success can be attributed to rave reviews, outstanding performances, and an impressive 97 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It's the second-highest score ever achieved by a Marvel film, just behind the record-breaking Spider-Man: No Way Home from Sony and Marvel.
