Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy are finally gearing up to bring what is arguably the most awaited superhero team up film of the past decade to theatres. As Deadpool & Wolverine is inching closer and closer to its release, both Reynolds and Levy are making rounds, doing interviews and being a part of panel discussions nearly all over South East Asia.

During one such event that was organised for the film, Ryan Reynolds, who has also co-written and produced the threequel, shared a concise version of the events leading up to Marvel Head Honcho finally green lighting the picture.

According to ComicBook.com, Ryan Reynolds told a Shanghai theatre audience of 1000 people that "I had met Kevin Feige six years ago to discuss this, and the first thing I said to him, 'I just want to make Wolverine and Deadpool together. I just want these two together on screen.' At the time, Kevin said, 'Forget it. It's never going to happen,'" Reynolds recalled. "And I said, 'Okay, that's fine.'

To this, Reynolds added: "As we marched inexorably forward, Shawn and I were coming up with different pitches and different ideas, and we pitched Marvel everything you could imagine — little movies, big movies, anything — and it wasn't working out."

But then, a miraculous phone call from a certain Australian actor changed everything.

Reynolds continued, "And then one day, we were on our last pitch. We were about to say to Kevin Feige, 'I think we're going to walk away and we'll come back later, maybe in a couple years, when we have a better sense of things.' And Hugh happened to call me." Jackman told Reynolds that, if it wasn't too late, he wanted to come back and do Deadpool 3."

Reynolds then ended the tale by saying, "Shawn and I just pivoted in the middle of our pitch to Kevin and said, 'Look, this thing just happened. It seems kind of miraculous. Hugh called me, what do you say?'" Reynolds said. "And for some reason, Kevin immediately said yes." Levy then noted it was with that one condition: Jackman's Wolverine wears yellow."

And now, Hugh Jackman will don the blue and yellow outfit from the comics in Marvel Studios' Deadpool & Wolverine, more than two decades after James Marsden's black leather-clad Cyclops made fun of Wolverine's iconic costume in 2000's X-Men.

Talk about a dream come true, right? We can't even imagine what Kevin Feige must have felt when he finally saw Jackman in a comic accurate classic yellow and blue garb.
