The cat is finally out of the bag! Channing Tatum can be finally seen playing Gambit in Shawn Levy's Deadpool & Wolverine. The Step Up star must have welled up for sure when he got the call from the powers-that-be who said that he will finally get to play the card-slinging and rear-end kicking mutant, a character that he had been trying to bring to the screen for four years before the Disney-Fox merger happened.

One of the many people that needs to be thanked for this cinematic feat is, well, Ryan Reynolds himself, if Channing Tatum's Tweet is to go by.

In the tweet, which he posted not too long after the conclusion of this year's San Diego Comic Con, he revealed that he had lost all hope to play the character on screen, but Reynolds put up a fight with the powers that be for him and the mutant character. He said that and a lot more in the tweet in question, which you can find below:

In addition to Channing Tatum, there were many other cameos in the film, which we are sure must have brought back old memories for those who are well-versed with the Marvel films that came before Iron Man, the 2008 film that launched the money making juggernaut that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

But, we will not spoil those cameos for you here just yet. Instead, we will recommend that you go and buy yourself a ticket to Deadpool & Wolverine right away, which is now successfully playing in theatres near you.
