Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy are coming to shatter the boundaries of the multiverse as well as box office records. Read on to know more.

This weekend marks the highly anticipated release of Deadpool and Wolverine, a joint production between Marvel Studios and Disney. The film will not only help restore the MCU's brilliance but also help the box office recover from the recent strike.

According to Deadline, the new Deadpool film, which stars Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds and is directed by Shawn Levy, is expected to earn between $160 million and $170 million worldwide. This would make it the highest-grossing R-rated opening of all time, surpassing the $132.4 million earned by the original Deadpool. Offshore initially spent $180–190 million, bringing the total to $340–360 million.

If the aforementioned projections turn into a reality, and we have a feeling that there is a good chance of that, the studio will more than make up for the underwhelming presentation that was The Marvels, which released just a few months ago. Additionally, not to mention that Deadpool And Wolverine will prove to be the biggest opening ever for the director, the lead actors and all the other artists that are a part of the cast and crew list.

Deadpool & Wolverine Final Trailer:

Not too long ago, several online trade pundits were predicting that the opening weekend number for the Shawn Levy directorial will be somewhere around $175 million, which was a humongous number as it is.

The number was being attributed to three major factors; The expectations from the film to usher in the Mutant era (Something that Kevin Fiege himself has gone on to confirm very recently), the number of years that the fans of the franchise have had to wait for the next Deadpool adventure (6 to be precise, but hey, who's counting?) and the big one being the fact that Hugh Jackman himself is returning to the Marvel universe as his beloved grumpy but yet loveable Adamantium-laced mutant. Not to mention that his first MCU venture is the superhero team up movie that fans of Deadpool and Wolverine have been asking for since the first Deadpool film came out in 2016.

And now, it seems like all those factors are going to have a bigger impact on Deadpool & Wolverine's opening weekend box office number than anyone would have imagined.
