The trailer for the captivating story of the iconic writer-duo Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, affectionately known as Salim-Javed, has been released. An iconic duo that completely transformed Indian cinema by reimagining the Bollywood formula, bringing in charismatic 'angry young man' heroes and turning action-dramas into a beloved genre.

Take a look at the trailer for the docuseries down below:

When it comes to the series, Salim remarked, “I started my career in front of the camera but realized that my true strength lay in telling stories. That’s when I decided to focus on what came naturally to me – writing. I then met Javed who was equally passionate about writing, and together we did some fantastic work together, which I am very proud of. We had an excellent run and achieved great success, and also challenged industry norms along the way. It feels wonderful that our journey is being documented for future generations, and I hope they will be inspired to do their best and not be confined by society’s prescribed roles."

Javed shared his enthusiasm, recounting his arrival in the city as a young man without a job, contacts, or money, often going to bed hungry. However, the thought of giving up never entered his mind. From the very beginning, it was clear to him that his life story was destined to be shared with the world. He then expressed his gratitude for the incredible support he and Salim Khan have received from their families, friends, and the industry in documenting their journey. Their unwavering love and encouragement had truly warmed Javed Saab's heart.  He signed off by thanking all that were present for the event.

Under the direction of Namrata Rao, the trailer presents a heartfelt and motivating glimpse into the remarkable journey and lasting impact of the renowned duo Salim-Javed, shining a spotlight on their unforgettable masterpieces like Deewar, Don, Sholay, Trishul, and Dostana.
