Govind Namdev Highlights The Differences Between Salman Khan And Shah Rukh Khan

The legendary Govind Namdev has opened up about his time spent filming with Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, two of Bollywood's biggest performers. While working on the set of Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani (2000), Govind Namdev reflected on his time spent with the now Emperor of the Hindi film industry for an interview hosted by Bollywood Bubble.

While speaking about SRK, Namdev claims that he had an unmatched work ethic; the actor would frequently labour nonstop, get only four hours of sleep, and be thinking about his next assignment the whole time.

In his own words, “I had heard a lot about workaholics, jinhe sirf kaam ki dhun hoti hai. I had heard about them, but I saw it the first time when I worked with Shah Rukh Khan,”

He also remembered, “We worked throughout the day, then at night he mingled with the whole crew, we ate together and then, because he was also the producer, he worked till 2 AM. The next day, he had to take an early morning flight to Chennai to attend a function, then come back and resume shooting! He would’ve slept for not more than three and a half or four hours maximum. Kaam mein dhuni hai woh. He will smoke like a chimney and keep working, keep thinking about what to do next. Superstars usually have this attitude, these tantrums, but not him.”

Govind Namdev on working with Salman Khan on the sets of Wanted

Wanted (2009) co-star Salman Khan was another subject of Govind Namdev's story. Salman Khan was far more focused on his work than Shah Rukh Khan, who was very gregarious with the team. Salman Khan, as pointed out by Govind Namdev, was reserved most of the time but would occasionally open up about his father and his childhood.

According to him: “He doesn’t interact much, sirf kaam se kaam. There was no personal talk at all. Just sometimes how unke father kaise hote the, kuch bhi tedha kiya toh padti thi humko‘ (Salman would share how if the kids did anything naughty, they would get a beating by their father Salim). That’s it. He is the opposite of Shah Rukh Khan as far as interacting with others is concerned.”

On the professional front, the seasoned actor was most recently seen in the Meghna Gulzar-directed Vicky Kaushal-starrer Sam Bahadur. As far as the Khans are concerned, while the Jawan/Pathaan/Emperor of Bollywood is enjoying a vacation in London with loved ones, Salman Khan is busy filming his next feature presentation, Sikandar.
