Deadpool & Wolverine is going to make its grand silver screen debut towards the end of the month. The upcoming Shawn Levy directorial will see Jackman in the much-requested comic accurate Yellow and Blue suit (We have Kevin Feige to thank for that!).

But, prior to the release of the upcoming multiverse-hopping superhero team up movie, Jackman quite recently took a trip down memory lane during with a conversation with the host of The Official Marvel Podcast. During the same, the Logan actor can be heard looking back at his initial days of playing the complex and troubled adamantium-laced hero, what he thought about the idea of X-Men in general and how he approached the now-iconic character. Read on to know what Jackman had to say.

While talking to the host of The Official Marvel Podcast, Jackman, who has now played Logan/Wolverine for nearly 25 years at this point, said the following:

"I don't think I understood what it (Wolverine) meant to the wider world," Jackman reflected. "I wasn't a big comic book fan, in particular, growing up. I had never heard of X-Men. In some ways, I'm really glad I didn't know. Because, I really approached Logan as I would any other character. Yes, he had claws coming out of him, and yes he could heal himself, yeah he had crazy hair. But, for me, it's just another character to embody with all the human-ness of him."

To this, he added "I said, as an actor, I work as much on the voice and the physicality of any part I play. On film, it's your eyes, but every part of you that you use. Looking at these big beautiful images, I was like, 'Look at the economy!' They can sell an entire action sequence with 12 images," he exclaimed. "It was about marginalized communities, minorities, and all of this stuff. Look how unique they were and where they stood and the  animal side of him. So, I was playing with all of that. I was in a room working on it. All those poses and all the things I did was everything taken off the comic books."

Fast forward to today, Deadpool & Wolverine will open in theatres on July 7. This Shawn Levy-directed feature will presumably be the beginning of Jackman's second innings as the character, but this time around, his once on-set buddy, Kevin Fiege, will be in charge of things. Let's hope that what we are assuming actually becomes a reality.
