In her latest cinematic venture, following her stunning performance in House Of Gucci, Lady Gaga is set to showcase her musical prowess once again. This time, she will embody a fresh interpretation of Harley Quinn in Todd Phillips' melodious follow-up to Joker, titled Joker: Folie À Deux. Prepare yourself to meet Lee, Arthur Fleck's new accomplice, ready to inject some mischief into his life and a melody into his soul.

Just recently, Empire Magazine had a chat with Todd Phillips and Oscar-winning "A Star Is Born." actor, where they spoke about all things related to Harley Quinn.

In their conversation, they hinted at what we can expect from Lee, and if their exchange is anything to go by, it seems like Gaga's take on the iconic DC character is going to be something we might not be prepared for. Continue reading to know more about what did the two talk about while in conversation with Empire Magazine.

Gaga had to adjust her vocal talents to match the film's song-and-dance numbers. "So, I'm guessing you've heard of me - Lady Gaga, the one and only? Oh, I may be the performer, but let me clarify - this movie is all about the character I'm playing."

She cleverly honed her singing style to emanate from Lee rather than herself as a performer, she reveals in an exclusive interview with Empire for their Joker: Folie À Deux cover story.

Considering the seamless integration of music into Phillips' film, it was only natural for Gaga to do the same. She wonders how Lee's singing music can seamlessly act like an extension of the dialogues in the film itself, without abruptly bursting into song for no apparent reason. "It was a completely new experience for me.", she added.

Lady Gaga humorously mentions that there are actually quite a few off-key moments from Lee in her singing for the film, as she laughs. "I mean, I've got some serious vocal chops, you know?" My breathing took on a whole new rhythm when I belted out tunes as Lee. While I effortlessly maintain pitch and rhythm when I sing on stage, Lee seems to be clueless about these techniques. It's as if I'm stripping away the technicality, abandoning my perceived artistry, and fully immersing myself in her essence."

Get ready to witness Gaga's fresh interpretation of a beloved character, who has flourished in various mediums such as Batman: The Animated Series, comic books, the DCEU, and even her own animated comedy. Lee is a Harley Quinn that you're familiar with, as well as one that you may not be acquainted with.

According to Phillips, there are certain aspects that may seem familiar in her, but it's truly Gaga's unique interpretation, along with Scott Silver's, that shines through.

In addition to the previous statement, the director of the Hangover trilogy cleverly remarked that she became like one of the girls who idolised Charles Manson. It's quite amusing how even these incarcerated criminals manage to gather a following. In the movie, Phillips said that they cleverly incorporated elements of Harley from the comic books, but then they put their own spin on it to make it uniquely our own.

Moral of the story: Prepare for an astonishing performance that’s totally Gaga.
