​​Kalki 2898 AD Initial Reactions Indicate A Historical Box Office Opening

After more than four years of waiting since its announcement, Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan has made its silver screen debut today. And now, many noted film journalists have gone ahead and shared their opinions on Nag Ashwin’s SciFi epic that also has a mythological angle to it. If the following reactions are to go by, Nag Ashwin’s Dystopian Magnum Opus can very well be on its way to make box office history. You will find some of the reactions below:

Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD is a Sci-Fi epic that has Prabhas as its headlining protagonist, Deepika Padukone as his impactful co-lead and cinema legend Amitabh Bachchan, who will be seen playing the well known Indian deity, Ashwatthama. As per a report in The Times Of India, the film has been able to capture 8,200 screens across the globe. Although Kalki 2898 AD’s screen count is lesser than that of S.S Rajamouli’s RRR (10,200 screens), it is believed that the SciFi epic will end its theatrical run on a much higher number than Rajamouli’s last outing. In fact, as per a report in Hindustan Times, the film can very well earn a total of 200 crores on its first day at the worldwide box office, and if the word of mouth is as positive as the reviews you saw above, that might be a very doable number.
