Kalki 2898 AD’s Day 1 Box Office Collections Point Towards A Baahubali Of A Weekend Box Office Total

Kalki 2898 AD, the dystopian SciFi action thriller with a mythological bend to it finally made it to screens yesterday. The film, which stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan has now gone on to post a stellar total after its first day at the movie screens.

As per a report on Sacnilk.com, the movie has gone on to collect an impressive total of ₹92 crores at the Indian box office. The breakup of the same is as follows:

Telugu: 61.5 Crores

Tamil: 4.5 Crores

Hindi: 23.5 Crores

Kannada: 0.3 Crores, and

Malayalam: 2.2 Crores

As far as the worldwide total is concerned, Saclink has gone on to report that the film now stands on a humongous total of ₹175 crores. In our humble opinion, if the film trends like this over the extended weekend that it has got, the film can easily sit on a total of anywhere between ₹600-650 crores at the worldwide box office, which will be a record breaking number for the Prabhas starrer and will make Kalki 2898 AD the highest grossing film of Prabhas’s career and that of others involved so far. Not to mention that we think that the film has all the legs it needs, based on the overly positive reactions shared by the early viewers of the SciFi flick.
