Khel Khel Mein: Gaurav Manwani Looks Back On The "Magical" Experience Of Working With Akshay Kumar

Gaurav Manwani, the talented star of the web show Flames, is all set to make his mark in Bollywood with the highly anticipated film Khel Khel Mein. Sharing screen space with the legendary Akshay Kumar, as well as a stellar ensemble cast including Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal, Gaurav is ready to take the silver screen by storm. The film is helmed by the talented Mudassar Aziz and is slated for a release on Independence Day 2024.

Just recently, Bollywood Hungama had the opportunity to chat with him about the film, the time he spent on set, and, of course, working with Akshay Kumar.

Ask him about it and the actor says “Landing this role feels like a dream come true for me. This is my first film and I am getting to work alongside an incredible cast, including my childhood hero, Akshay Kumar. I have been a huge fan for years, so this opportunity feels magical to me, it feels surreal. It feels like I have almost manifested this opportunity"

Gaurav shared with the officials at Bollywood Hungama that landing the film came as a delightful surprise to him. It turns out that director Mudassar Aziz specifically sought him out for the role.

“I got a call from an assistant director on the film who told me that Mudassar Aziz had seen one of my previous audition tapes and really liked it. Two days after the audition, I got the call that I was onboard and I was over the moon with the fact that I was going to shoot a film with Akshay Kumar,” he excitedly shares.

The actor had a blast shooting with the entire cast in Udaipur, where they not only worked together but also shared some memorable moments over food. From indulging in Taapsee Pannu's favourite kachoris and Yakhni pulaos to savouring a delectable meal prepared by Akshay's talented chef, they truly enjoyed each other's company. However, working with Akshay is what truly stands out for him.

Gaurav couldn't help but gush about his co-star, expressing that not only is he an exceptional actor, but he's also incredibly humble, making him one of the most genuine individuals Gaurav has ever encountered. Approaching him and striking up a conversation is a piece of cake for anyone.

"During my first meeting with him, we were in a scene and I was shaking with excitement. Watching him work is like a masterclass in acting. He brings something new to every take, which is wonderful. He is so free and I love his acting style. This whole experience has been really transformative for me; from watching Akshay sir on screen to sharing screen space with him, it's beyond words. I am excited for what's to come."
