Kraven the Hunter will become one of comic book cinema's most adult properties. The film has been officially rated R for "strong bloody violence, and language." Comicbook.com was one of the first news publications to break the news.

"Anyone who's familiar with comics and the character of Kraven the Hunter knows that he is a fierce hunter — a skilled, highly-trained killer," Kraven the Hunter star Aaron Taylor-Johnson previously stated about the film as per the very same Comicbook.com report. "So I think now's a good time to answer the Internet's biggest question: Will it be rated R? F— yes, it's going to be R."

It's not the first time a Sony-owned Marvel film has flirted with a R rating. Tom Hardy previously told ComicBook.com itself that they considered a R rating for the Venom franchise, given its overall potential for gore and gratuitous violence.

A Little About Kraven The Hunter

In Kraven the Hunter, Russian immigrant Sergei Kravinoff sets out to prove that he is the world's greatest hunter. Aaron Taylor-Johnson will play Sergei Kravinoff / Kraven, with Ariana DeBose as Calypso and Fred Heichinger as Dmitri Smerdyakov / Chameleon. Christopher Abbott, Alessandro Nivola, Russell Crowe, and Levi Miller have been cast in roles that are currently unknown.
