Maya Rudolph To Return To SNL As Kamala Harris: Report

As soon as Joe Biden called it quits on his re-election campaign and threw his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party's candidate, social media erupted with speculation about Maya Rudolph's return to SNL this fall. It seems like people can't help but connect the dots and anticipate some hilarious skits ahead!

It turns out that Rudolph is all set to reprise her role as Harris on Saturday Night Live, just in time for the upcoming presidential election. This news comes from a report on The Hollywood Reporter.

According to the report, Rudolph's Apple TV+ series Loot, set to begin production on season three in late August, has been delayed due to scheduling conflicts. This delay will give Rudolph more time to focus on her work on SNL. (Loot and SNL are both brought to you by Universal Television and Lorne Michaels' Broadway Video.)

Interestingly, the report mentions that the representatives for NBC have yet to respond to a request for comment.

Rudolph took on Harris' persona multiple times in the run-up to the 2020 election, with Rudolph's character initially running for president and later being chosen as Biden's vice presidential candidate. In a March 2021 episode that she hosted, she once again showcased her comedic prowess. The sketch, which includes Martin Short as Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff, is definitely worth a watch.
