Bleecker Street unveiled the latest trailer for Slingshot, just in time for the film's highly anticipated release in late August. Slingshot features an all-star cast including Casey Affleck, Laurence Fishburne, Emily Beecham, Tomer Capone, and David Morrissey. These talented actors bring their impressive resumes to the table, with Affleck known for his roles in Manchester by the Sea and A Ghost Story, Fishburne's iconic performances in The Matrix franchise and John Wick franchise, Beecham's standout work in Daphne and Little Joe, Capone's appearances in The Boys and One Week and a Day, and Morrissey's memorable role in The Walking Dead. The sci-fi film revolves around an astronaut who finds himself entangled in the complexities of his own mind, adding a twist to the space mission he embarks on.

According to a report on Comicbook.com, Slingshot has been in development for quite some time, starting production in late 2021 and eventually being sold to distributors in 2022.

What Is Slingshot About?

Slingshot promises to take us on an interstellar adventure as we embark on a daring mission to Saturn's moon Titan with a team of exceptional astronauts. As the team prepares for a perilous slingshot manoeuvre that could either send them hurtling towards Titan or lost in the vastness of space, one astronaut finds it increasingly challenging to hold onto his sanity.

Slingshot is helmed by the talented Mikael Håfström, known for his work on The Rite, 1408, and Evil. The screenplay is crafted by the dynamic duo of R. Scott Adams (Donner Pass) and Nathan Parker (Moon, Equals). The film is produced by the creative minds of Richard Saperstein, Istvan Major, and Beau Turpin. The list of executive producers includes names like Ivett Havasi, Shara Kay, Michael Hollingsworth, Tom Nohstadt, Ron Cundy, Nikolett Barabás, Jonathan Krauss, Brooklyn Weaver, and Joanna Plafsky.
