Millennium Pictures and XYZ Films have unveiled a trailer for Subservience, their chilling new film set in a not-so-distant future where lifelike androids seamlessly integrate into society. The movie features a talented cast including Megan Fox, Michele Morrone, and Madeline Zima.

It revolves around the story of a man (Morrone) whose wife (Zima) is facing a serious illness. When he purchases an android maid (Fox) to assist with household chores, the situation rapidly spirals out of control as she unexpectedly gains self-awareness and becomes aggressive.

The film was helmed by S.K. Dale and written by Will Honley and April Maguire. Here's the trailer for you to watch.

The concept of malevolent, realistic androids is far from novel, but it has undeniably gained traction due to the widespread acclaim of M3gan and the increasing prevalence of AI as a ubiquitous term in our everyday existence. Subservience explores a unique perspective, straddling the line between sensuality and power dynamics. The title and tagline hint at a sexual undertone, but the portrayal of Alice in this film deviates from the typical tropes of a mere playmate or a sexual object, which are often associated with this theme.

Interestingly, Alice could potentially have practical real-world applications, given the market demand for domestic servant robots.
