Paul Feig is getting ready to book a room at Jason Blum's house. According to an article on The Hollywood Reporter, the two are joining forces for Blumhouse's feature adaptation of the Netflix unscripted series Worst Roommate Ever.

In Feig's upcoming feature, a recently single woman meets a charming man who offers to sublet her dream home's spare room, but her illusions are shattered when she discovers that his insincerity extends beyond just his name and application. She invites a chronic squatter into her home without realising it, and he isn't going anywhere, at least not without putting up a fight.

Feig just wrapped up production on Netflix's The School for Good and Evil. He is currently wrapping up production on A Simple Favour 2, the sequel to the 2018 thriller of the same name, and he is also set to direct and produce the action-comedy film Jackpot for Amazon MGM Studios.

This will be the first time Blumhouse has created a film and television series based on the same intellectual property, according to the same THR report, and Laura Fischer will produce the feature adaptation of Worst Roommate Ever. Blumhouse Television's original unscripted TV series Worst Roommate Ever has earned two seasons on Netflix. It was inspired by a 2018 New York Magazine article by William Brennan. You can find the trailer for the same below:

Along with Blum and Chris Morgan, Scoop Wasserstein of Vox Media, and Chris Morgan will share producing credits on the film adaptation. Bea Sequeira of Blumhouse, William Brennan of Chris Morgan Productions, and Ainsley Morgan of Chris Morgan Productions are the executive producers.

The screenplay for Feig's feature is written by Stephen Susco (Unfriended: Dark Web). The project is being supervised by Haley Pigman on behalf of Blumhouse.
