Presumed Innocent has been found not guilty, and Apple TV+ wants more.
Presumed Innocent, the court drama based on Scott Turow's best-selling book has been picked up for a second season by the tech giant's streaming service. The renewal comes as the first season of the show, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a lawyer accused of killing a coworker, is about to end on July 24.
For the second season of Presumed Innocent, a new story will be shown. The current cast of the show includes Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, O-T Fagbenle, Chase Infiniti, Elizabeth Marvel, Nana Mensah, Renate Reinsve, Peter Sarsgaard, Kingston Rumi Southwick, and Gabby Beans. No word yet on which (if any) of them will return.
Apple TV+ says that Presumed Innocent is its most-watched drama series so far, but it didn't give any viewing numbers, which is normal for streaming services. The show didn't make it into Nielsen's U.S. streaming top 10 charts during its first week, June 10–16, which is the most recent week for which data is accessible.
Bad Robot Productions, which is run by J.J. Abrams, and David E. Kelley Productions are making the show with Warner Bros. TV, with whom Bad Robot has an overall deal.
It has been confirmed that Kelley, Tinker, Abrams, Rich, Gyllenhaal, and Thomason will all be back as EPs for season two. Turow will also be back as co-executive producer.
