SDCC 2024: Captain America: Brave New World Star Giancarlo Esposito Confirms That He Plays Sidewinder In The Movie

Prepare yourselves, folks, because Sidewinder is about to make an entrance. Oh, guess who's snagged the role of the King of the Serpent Society in Julius Onah's highly anticipated Cap fourquel, Captain America: Brave New World? It's none other than Giancarlo Esposito! Take a look at the video that sees the actor himself revealing the same at this year's San Diego Comic Con.

Allow me to enlighten the uninitiated: Sidewinder, also known as Seth Voelker, happens to be the mastermind behind the Serpent Society, a consortium of supervillains with a penchant for all things snake-related. Throughout their history, the group has had the pleasure of collaborating with notable figures such as Kingpin and Hydra. The Society's connection to Marvel's Star-Spangled Avenger can be traced back to issue #310 of Captain America from 1985.

However, it's still uncertain if Esposito will embrace the authentic reptilian ruff that is true to the comics while taking on the Sidewinder role. However, considering the movie's political thriller angle and Esposito's stylish shades-and-shooter combination in the trailer, it seems highly improbable!
