The Fantastic Four: First Steps: D23 Audience Gets Their Best Look Yet At Marvel's First Family's MCU Costumes

This weekend at D23, Marvel Studios released a short video of Fantastic Four's cast speaking from London. The four stars dine at a retro-futuristic table with Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn) in his Fantastic Four uniform. The costume resembles a jumper and spandex trousers with a wide white belt, not a kevlar or tyvek suit. That fits with everything we've seen of the movie, which seems to be set decades ago and in another Marvel multiverse world.

Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) wears a black turtleneck and Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal) wears a cardigan over a white button-down shirt. Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) wears a zip-up hoodie, but if Johnny is wearing a uniform, Ben should be a big orange rock by now.

See the tweet below:

The Fantastic Four logo, along with its retro set and fabrics, looks like it belongs in the 1960s and 1980s. The Fantastic Four may wear different uniforms or character-specific costumes. Reed and Sue are in street clothes while Johnny is in his costume, which could mean he embraces superhero fame differently than his family or needs to wear unstable molecules to avoid flaming on.

The origins of the DC and Marvel comics universes will be in theatres at the same time next year for comic book fans.

A Little About The Fantastic Four: First Steps

Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) will play Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby (The Crown) as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm/Human Torch in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Julia Garner will play Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer, and Ralph Ineson will play Galactus. Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne will play unannounced roles. Filmmaker Matt Shakman (WandaVision) will direct.
