USA Network Reboots ‘Rainmaker’ with John Slattery

USA Network has cast the leading star for their John Grisham's The Rainmaker reboot.

Lionsgate Television and Blumhouse Television's drama will star Mad Men alum John Slattery and be executive produced by Grisham, writer Michael Seitzman (Code Black, Intelligence), Jason Richman (Stumptown, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon), David Gernert, and Jason Blum. Both Richman and Seitzman wrote the pilot.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Slattery will play Leo F. Drummond, one of Grisham's most famous characters, a courtroom lion and senior partner at Tinley Britt, Rudy Baylor's rival firm.

Rudy Baylor faces courtroom lion Leo Drummond (Slattery) and his law school girlfriend after graduating from law school. Rudy, his boss, and her dishevelled paralegal discover two conspiracies surrounding their client's son's mysterious death.

As THR reported previously, USA Network's first non-shared scripted series since 2020 is a Rainmaker reboot ordered straight to series. The cable network, home to Suits and White Collar, which Netflix has revived, was the most watched for a decade.

The Rainmaker series follows Lionsgate and Blumhouse's multi-picture deal to reimagine Lionsgate horror classics.
