Vedaa got a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) a few days before it's August 15 release, but there were some major changes made to it. A 2-minute and 16-second hanging scene and a 6-minute and 15-second court violence scene were among the more than 9 minutes of footage cut by the Revising Committee.

The film's dialogue and images were also changed, with some elements removed, such as a textual reference to social identities and Sanskrit shlokas. Two hours and thirty minutes is the total running time of the film.

The forthcoming film Vedaa, starring Sharvari and John Abraham and directed by Nikkhil Advani, delves into topics of caste discrimination and untouchability. The film takes place in Rajasthan and follows a girl and an ex-Army officer as they battle against institutionalised oppression. In the film, Tamannaah Bhatia plays the role of John's romantic interest, and Abhishek Banerjee plays the role of the villain.

As they get ready for its theatrical release, the film's creators continue to hold out hope, despite their earlier expressions of frustration over the certification delay.
