Wesley Snipes' Blade Slashes Down Two Guinness World Records, Courtesy Of His Deadpool & Wolverine Cameo

Wesley Snipes' portrayal of the half-vampire "daywalker" in Deadpool & Wolverine has earned him the distinction of holding the longest career as a live-action Marvel character, as recognised by Guinness World Records. He emerged victorious over his co-star Hugh Jackman, as Snipes' reprisal arrived 25 years and 240 days after his initial portrayal of the character in 1998's Blade. the Hollywood Reporter was the first publication to break the news.

On the other hand, Jackman made his debut as Wolverine in the 2000 film X-Men. It was anticipated that he would surpass Sir Patrick Stewart's record as Charles Xavier/Professor X with the release of Deadpool 3, but unfortunately, he was surpassed by Snipes.

Blade's unexpected appearance in the film also set a new record for the longest time between a character's appearances in Marvel films, according to Guinness' calculations. Snipes' most recent portrayal of the character was in Blade: Trinity (2004), a film that was released 19 years and 231 days prior to the release of the Shawn Levy movie. He managed to outdo Alfred Molina's impressive 17-year hiatus between portraying Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2 and his recent appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
